This Ranger is assigned to prevent poaching around the wildlife refuge area of Lanseria, South Africa. The way these animals interact with him is absolutely stunning! The lions seem to know he’s there to protect them. His charm works with hyenas and lions too. Hyenas are usually vicious. Check out the pics taken in the river – amazing because lions hate water.

Here is the article I found on MSNBC.com. His name is Kevin Richardson and he is an animal behaviorist. He is at a big cat reserve in S. Africa, not in the wild and these cats and hyenas have grown up with him.

ALL "wild" animals such as lions, hippos, rhinos, and hyenas are in game reserves in South Africa. There are no freely roaming big game animals in that country other than leopards, who cannot be contained by fencing and other security devices. The game reserves are huge…tens of thousands of square kilometers. Being in a "reserve" in no way tames an animal. They are completely self-sufficient to hunt and are not domesticated in any way. The only difference between these animals and other wild animals is that eventually, these animals will come to a fence!
He is a very fotunate man to have these animals love him as they do. Many, including myself envy this man.
